Can dogs eat blueberries?
Blueberries are safe and healthy for dogs. They are low in calories, high in antioxidants, and make excellent training treats.
Blueberries are a superfood for dogs just as they are for humans. They are packed with antioxidants, vitamins C and K, fiber, and phytochemicals that support overall health.
Their small size makes them perfect training treats, especially for smaller dogs. Fresh or frozen blueberries are both fine — frozen blueberries can be a refreshing summer treat. Avoid blueberry-flavored products, muffins, or anything with added sugar.
As with any treat, blueberries should be given in moderation. A handful for a medium-sized dog is plenty. Too many can cause digestive upset due to the fiber content.
