KinlyPets (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our pet health records platform and AI-powered symptom checker (the “Service”).

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and any optional profile information you provide. We use passwordless authentication (magic links) and third-party sign-in (Google), so we do not store passwords.

Pet Health Data

To provide the Service, we collect pet information you enter, including: pet name, species, breed, age, weight, medical records (vaccinations, medications, conditions, procedures, allergies, lab results), vet visit reports, and any documents you upload.

Symptom Check Conversations

When you use the AI symptom checker, we collect the symptoms and health concerns you describe, the AI-generated responses and triage assessments, and conversation summaries. This data is used to provide accurate assessments and build your pet’s health history.

Usage Data

We automatically collect basic usage information such as pages visited, features used, and general interaction patterns. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising trackers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the Service, including AI-powered symptom assessments
  • Build and maintain your pet’s health profile and medical records
  • Generate health reports for sharing with your veterinarian
  • Improve the accuracy and quality of AI assessments (using anonymized, aggregated data)
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Respond to support requests and communicate about your account
  • Ensure the security and integrity of the Service

3. Data Processors and Third Parties

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:

  • Supabase — Database hosting, user authentication, and file storage. Your data is stored in Supabase’s infrastructure with row-level security.
  • Anthropic — AI processing for the symptom checker. Your symptom descriptions are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate health assessments. Anthropic does not use this data to train their models.
  • Stripe — Payment processing for subscriptions. We do not store your credit card information; it is handled entirely by Stripe.
  • Vercel — Application hosting and content delivery.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or pet health data with advertisers or unrelated third parties.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may export your pet’s health records at any time through the dashboard settings.

When you delete your account, all associated data — including pet profiles, medical records, conversations, and uploaded documents — is permanently deleted from our systems. This process is irreversible.

5. Anonymized Data

We may use fully anonymized and aggregated data (with all personally identifiable information removed) to analyze symptom patterns and improve the accuracy of health assessments. This anonymized data cannot be traced back to you or your pet. No individually identifiable pet health data is shared for research or any other purpose without your explicit consent.

6. Children’s Privacy

KinlyPets is designed for adult pet owners. The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest. Database access is controlled through row-level security policies, ensuring users can only access their own data. While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data through the dashboard at any time
  • Export your pet’s health records via the settings page
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Correct inaccurate information in your pet’s records
  • Withdraw consent for data processing by deleting your account

9. Cookies

KinlyPets uses only essential cookies required for the Service to function, primarily for authentication session management through Supabase. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. No cookie consent banner is required as we only use strictly necessary cookies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email and update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
